This is a one panel comic strip of "Pets Allowed" by Nigel Parkinson, Jr. with Bernard watching cartoons on TV on a Sunday. I drew this on Saturday, October 18 and posted this on Sunday, October 19. I colored it with colored pencils and colored brush pens because I color most of my comic strips that I post on Sundays. Commercials come on during Bernard's cartoon watching and in this comic strip, one toy commercial caught his eyes. I'm thinking about revealing the toy in a December comic strip but you never know I may just show it in October or November 2014.
Imagine you realize the world you lived in has changed and that all species of animals and bugs are able to speak and act like human beings. The only physical changes of them is that they have thumbs where they are able hold things like humans can. Everything else about them is still the same, so do not expect to see an elephant driving a car unless it is built to his size and that would be a huge car. In August 2014, I created a character named Claude, who is a Bernese Mountain Dog. From there it expanded to other characters; his family. I posted my comic strips to any place that I could on social media; Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. In the first comic strip, I wanted to introduce the family and character that would be the center of the universe that I have created. Each comic strip expands their world and answers questions that readers will have. Claude has a family; a wife and four puppies. Before they evolved to animals where they can speak and act like human beings, they would have been separated and given to other families. Claude is determine to be a great father and husband to his wife and keep them all safe together. Right now I'm up to comic strip #20 and I do not plan to stop, I have a lot more to go with this universe. This comic strip has gain some interest and I love getting responses about them, which shows me that I'm doing something right by my comic strip. The questions that readers will ask are what other species of animal will be introduced and what adventures will the characters embark on. I already introduced Claude's owners, a mouse, a veggie burger loving cow, a cat, a meat lover man, a pigeon, etc. There are so many other characters to appear, human, animals, and bugs. To the readers, thank you for following through with me to this point where I am with the comic strip and waiting for further "Pets Allowed" comic strips to come along. Any one new and future readers, I look forward to hearing from you too. When you notice the grammatical errors that you did not correct! The best thing to do before you send the written letter or invitation to your recipient is to have a good look at it first. It's great to have excellent writing skills where you get the grammar correct right off the bat in your first draft. Usually when you write something, you'll have a couple of rough drafts to go through, before you get to the final draft. After your first draft, read it over aloud to yourself, if you can, and correct any mistakes. Do this with any other drafts you may have. If you can't edit your writing, or you're unsure about your edits, then hand it over to someone who can give it a good look. By Nigel Parkinson, Jr. It is nice to hear a thank you from someone. It's also nice to say thank you to another person. What is even better when someone took the time to mail you or hand you a thank note card. It will bring a smile to person's face. Be that person who does that for another person. Handwriting with Elegance have a Thank You note card that you can buy for showing someone your appreciation. The note card will come with an envelope. The note card is blank inside so you can write any messages you have for the recipient. You can write what you are thanking them for. Do you want a customized Thank You note card? I, calligrapher Nigel Parkinson, Jr. can do that to. What design do you want on the front of the card and also if you want me to write the message on the inside of the card. Let me know the details and I will send you a quote. Do you send thank you note cards or do you just thank someone through e-mail and/or social media? Please address this in the comment and I look forward to hearing from you! By Nigel Parkinson, Jr. So when you are satisfied with what you wrote for the recipient of your letter or invitation, then now it is time to send it off. If you handwritten the letter or invitation, you can't press a send button like you can with an e-mail on a computer. You have to snail mail it, which will take longer than e-mailing it, but the effort to going to the post office and having your recipient wait for it is well worth it. Your letter or invitation needs an envelope and I can handwrite the outside of the envelope for you. When you request me to handwrite your envelope, I will spend time to elegantly write the words and numbers on the outside of the envelope. I will have an envelope that you sent to us or one that I provide. There is no charge if you provide the envelope, but an extra cost will be applied if I provide the envelope for you. I will write your name and address on the upper left corner of the envelope and then the recipient's name and address on the center of the envelope. It is the first thing that the recipient will see before opening the envelope and they will love the look of it! Send us a request to handwrite your envelope(s) for you and you will have a quote sent to you. Not only can I do the envelope, but I can even elegantly handwrite the letter for you, if you send in a request for that as well. Your recipient will not only love reading your letter or invitation, but also the envelope that came along with it. It will look very nice that they will keep the envelope along with your letter or invitation! Do you send letters through snail mail, do you mostly communicate through e-mail, or do you do both? Please address this in the comment section and I look forward to hearing from you! Photo Below: A handwritten envelope by Nigel Parkinson, Jr.

After I have done my warm up, if I haven't already jumped into the writing. My eyes are ready to focus on what I will apply onto the paper and my hands will be relaxed when I hold the calligraphy pen. Now it is time to write! Do you have a favorite spot at home, work, or outside to sit when you write? I like to write at my desk at home because the desk is flat and it has the things that I need, my paper and my pens. How are you sitting? Your posture can affect how well you write. When writing calligraphy I want my energy to flow to my hand that is writing. I sit with my back straight up, trying to avoid slouching. My feet are planted and situated in a certain way on the floor. Since I'm right handed I have the weight of my left hand holding the paper down so it won't move. I take the calligraphy pen and start writing. When I write, I work on keeping my breathing under control, out through the mouth and in through the nose. I like silence because it helps me to concentrate. I can also write when the television is on or have music on, but silence is the number one choice for me. The main goal is to keep calm and relaxed while writing calligraphy so my writing and/or drawings will look great! How do you relax when you are writing and/or drawing? Please address this in the comment section and I look forward to hearing from you! |
